The Fort St. James Humane Society is a non-profit organization just recently established in Fort St. James. FSJHS's goal is to provide medical assistance, shelter and rehabilitation to injured, abused and/or abandoned animals through foster care until adoption; to provide humane animal control within the surrounding reservations by providing spay/neutering and inoculation programs, in order to reduce the number of dogs, dog attacks, dog bites, dog shootouts and deaths of First Nation residents.
